Chapter 9 : Birthdays

Shane and Marlene approached the sitting area only to see their daughters sleeping on the couches.
They both let out a big sigh.
"Now I'm starting to believe that the policeman was right about them having a party," Marlene said.
"Are we supposed to get them in trouble?"  Marlene asked.  She wasn't good at punishments.
After being thoroughly scolded by Shane, Adeline called a family meeting up in their bedroom.
They went upstairs to find Adeline relaxing on her bed.
"So," Adeline yawned, "They agreed to take us on a field trip at school tomorrow."  She tried to act chill, as if making a petition against the school was something she did all the time.
"Yay!"  Astrid yelled in excitement.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?"  Athena asked.  She was never very trusting.
"Of course," Astrid said.
"Plus," She continued, "You're just upset that Archie won't be there."
Athena sighed in frustration and headed out to their balcony.
She attempted to calm herself as she called Archie.  She promised to call him after the party because he wanted to know how much trouble Adeline got in for throwing a party.
"You wouldn't believe it!  All they did was yell at us.  It's like they barely know what they are doing."  Athena giggled.

The girls were very excited as the bus dropped them off at the beach.  They had the rest of the day to socialize, as the teacher chaperone had no idea what he was doing and let them do whatever they wanted.
Adeline wandered over to the new exchange student, because being the Charismatic person she was, she never let any opportunity to talk to a boy go to waste.
Archie even decided to sneak in.
This, of course, made Astrid's day as she still had a huge crush on him.
But it was too bad for Astrid because Archie would chat away to Athena, and, in the process, cut Astrid out of the conversation.
Astrid looked at her shoes.
Adeline found an older girl sitting and having a picnic, so Adeline who was always having to hang out with the older kids, sat down with her.
The girl left.

Archie decided to come home with the girls.

And they hung out for a few hours together.

"So do you like this boy?" Shane asked.  He was very protective of his daughters, especially since Aaron came and tried to steal Athena.
"No, dad, it's not like that at all.  We're just friends." Athena laughed, even though Shane was as serious as can be.
A year later, Adeline jumped out of her seat when her parents gave her permission to throw a party for Marlene, Astrid, Athena, and her own birthday and began to call everyone she knew.
Athena called Archie to make sure he was invited.
And so did Astrid.
But at that same time, little did Marlene know a man in a limo was coming to visit expectantly.
"Hello, Mrs. Luna?  The mayor will be coming to visit shortly."  An extremely deep voice said.
And so the mayor walked up to the door and let himself in.
It was Shane, and he had been asked to be Mayor.
"What are you doing, Shane?" Marlene laughed.
"Well, the Mayor quit and they needed a replacement, and I was within reach, so here I am, Mayor," Shane finished.

A few days later, Astrid invited a friend over.
Her name was Kala Norman.
Marlene introduced herself, not knowing who it was.
"Hi," Kala said, "I'm Kala Norman.  And you must be Marlene Luna?"
It couldn't be... Marlene thought in shock.
"You're Jasmine's daughter?" Marlene asked in surprise.  She wasn't sure why she asked, as she already knew.

"You're the only one who can tell me who my real dad is,"  Kala said.
So Marlene gave Kala Aaron's phone number, hoping it was the same as it was almost two decades ago.
That afternoon, Marlene was invited to a celebration in her honor.

She bowed randomly to the president of Sim City's Interior Design organization.
Archie attended the ceremony too so he could see Athena.
After the ceremony, Astrid decided it was time to step in and stop Athena's friendship with Archie.
"Hey mom, Athena likes a boy, and he's already graduated and he's three years older than her,"  Astrid said, trying to make the whole situation seem like a disaster and make Athena get in complete trouble.
"And what's the big deal about that, Astrid?" Marlene asked.  She was almost five years older than Shane was, and Marlene believed age was just a number.
"Muuuuuuuuuuuuuum!  Come on!"  Astrid shrieked and stormed off.  Marlene had no idea what she did.

A while later, it was time for the women's birthday party.  It was a major success, even though Athena wore the same dress as Astrid.

So after the party, the Luna's decided to get makeover's to celebrate their birthdays.
But, for some reason, Shane didn't do his hair before the party so he looked like a girl...

Here is the family.
Marlene Luna
Shane Luna
Adeline Luna
